Abstract

The idea of Eco-spirituality began to evolve when human beings were filled with awe, observing the natural calamities and forces befalling on them, and consequently became undone and helpless in the midst of nature. As Sharmila puts it,

The forces of nature have always filled awe in human minds and also inspired human imagination. The starry heaven with sun and the moon, the rhythmic repetition of climatic cycles coinciding with sun's position in the ecliptic, the eclipses that appear all of a sudden without a warning, the sky with clouds that also brought forth thunder and rain etc. were not only beyond human control (Sharmila, 2018).
